Christmas Eve Service and More

Paige Findley - December 13, 2017

Mothers-Day-Out Report

Before I get into details about the upcoming Christmas Eve Service, I wanted to share a quick report from Elyse Dobson about last Saturday's Mother's Day Out lunch:

Saturday morning many dear sisters volunteered to help at 11:00am as many South Church mom's brought their children for Christmas activities so they could have 3 hours of "mom time".
The day began with ornament making for the church Christmas tree, followed by a lunch of pizza, veggies, fruit, mini cupcakes and candy canes. After lunch the children (ages 7 and up) were taught a Christmas song by Mrs. McAfee while the younger ones watched a Christmas story and played. The older children will be singing "What Child Is This" during the upcoming Christmas Eve Service.
The day ended with everyone joining in to decorate the "big" Christmas tree in the Sanctuary. Other than the cupcakes and candy canes, the tree decorating seemed to be the highlight of the day!

May the Lord bless everyone who participated in the Mother's Day Out lunch last weekend, especially the volunteers & coordinators! The tree looks great!

Restoring Christmas Eve to Our First Responders

Restore outreach ministries on Christmas Eve will take place either before or after the Christmas Eve Service. Please check with your Restore leader for times & details. If you're not a part of a Restore family but would like to participate in bringing Christmas cheer to First Responders--including EMTs & firefighters at the fire station, and nurses & doctors at the hospital--please give Restore leaders Chuck or Brad a call. Their contact info is available online in the Church Directory.

Christmas Eve Service

This year our Lord has provided a central place for South Church to celebrate the birth of His Son on Christmas Eve together: Suite 100! We plan to begin our candle light service of Scripture & Song at 6:30pm. Pastor Cody & his church family from Fredericksburg Christian Fellowship are planning to join us for this time of worship. So bring your friends & family and celebrate with us, next Sunday evening, December 24th.

Merry Christmas!
