And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you. -Psalm 39.7

This single verse really hit home with me as I was reading today. What else is there to long for? Are you weighed down by the promises of the world? Are you chasing riches, and desperate for status? Let's flip this around for a sec, are you struggling financially, or being persecuted because of Jesus? In the midst of these things, and in our search for worldly wealth & status do you find yourself satisfied? This is my point! We can get so caught up in our pursuits, and or our struggles, that we aren't satisfied! We are stuck in a rat race for satisfaction. If our hope is truly in Him then what does any of this matter as far as our joy and satisfaction is concerned? He has already given us everything... HIM! Our ultimate satisfaction! Are you content?

Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me. -Philippians 4.11-13

Are You Content In Christ Jesus?

I don't know about you but I want to be like Paul! Content in all circumstances because of He who is our strength. He has indeed given us the greatest treasure, the only treasure. Are you content in Christ Jesus? Will you walk away as soon as things get hard or you hear a word you don't like? Or will you respond the way Peter does?

After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life -John 6.66-68

Where will you go? With those who turned away, going back to the world that only offers death and eternal separation from God? Or to the (only) one who has the words of eternal life, Jesus? Peter isn't asking for another option that perhaps Jesus knows of, Peter sees the desperation of our need for Christ --at least in part when he said this--. THERE IS NOWHERE ELSE! Christ is the only option. He is the way, the truth, and the life!

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. -John 14.6

He is everything! That truth should forever change our worship of Him! I pray that it does, and that South Church will be, even more so each day, forever changed! I love you brethren.

I can't wait to praise Him with you,
